People have often asked if I sell on the internet, and my response has been, "No, but you can see my jewelry on my website."
My plan was to transform www.bigmooncreations.com into an e-commerce site. In preparation I photographed all my creations with alternate views, a formidable task in itself that took one month.
After more thought, I realized that no matter how well I could drive traffic to my site, the numbers would remain paltry compared to the 30 million users on Etsy.
So it was on Etsy.com where I decided to open my online store BigMoonCreations last week with some pairs of earrings and with the rest of my collection to come:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/BigMoonCreations?ref=search_shop_redirect
Apparently one of the founders of Etsy came up with artisanal website's name while watching Fellini's 8 1/2. He heard the Italian e sì often, which means and 'oh, yes' (although Google Translate tells me it means 'and yes').
Whichever the meaning, now when someone asks whether I sell online, my response can now be, "Oh, yes!"
